Favorite Videos

So I FINALLY figured out how to upload videos.  It wasn't too difficult, I think the couple of times I've tried, my computer has putzed out on me.

Here are some favorites from Owen's first 6 months of life!  Enjoy!

Owen's first days of life.  This was how he showed us he was hungry.
I posted this more for the funny, scary, no sleep voice I had.

My absolute favorite video of Owen.  This was one of the first days Andrew was home with him.  He could always get Owen to talk.  This is just precious.

Owen's first time on the swing.  He has such a great squeal when he is happy.

Door County

Last week, we snuck away on a little family vacation to Door County.  We had never been there, so as Wisconsinites, we figured we had to check it out.  We LOVE Saugatuck, MI so much and had heard it was similar so we thought it would be the perfect place to get away to for a couple days.

Using vacationrentals.com, I found a super cheap 1 bedroom condo at the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor.  We choose Egg Harbor, because 1. it's centrally located within the peninsula and 2. it's the name of my favorite breakfast place at home (oh how I love their cinnamon french toast!--haha, just kidding).  We thought being in a central location would allow us to check out everything Door County has to offer pretty easily and Landmark Resort seemed perfect because they have an indoor and several outdoor pools, restaurant on the resort and we had a kitchenette that allowed for us to buy food for breakfast, snacks and dessert.

We spent 4 days and 3 nights and had a great time!  Everyday we let Owen nap in the pack-n-play at the condo, then we would head out for lunch and an afternoon of touring.  Most days we ended up driving around as Owen napped in the car.  It was hard because we wanted to make sure Owen got his naps, we're somewhat rigid about getting him his naps, but also wanted to see everything so the naps in the car worked.  In true Bessick fashion, we also enjoyed several great meals.  Using our trusted Trip Advisor App, we found several places and greatly enjoyed all the places we tried.

Owen's anti-head bobbing pillow made him look like Dumbo.

Owen is becoming such a big boy!  His little personality is showing through more and he is just a laid back snuggle bug.  It's so fun seeing him grow up and be interested in everything around him.  We had a great time just spending time together as a family.

5-6 Months

Wow, Owen is already a half-year old already.  We celebrated his 1/2 birthday today with some family time, a field trip to Home Depot and some playing outside.  The past 2 months have gone by fast, as they all have.

Andrew finished his leave at home and went back to work for the last week.  Nana came and babysat for the week while we finished another year of school.  We've had a busy start the summer but are enjoying so much family time.  It's great having all of us home.

During Owen's 5th month, we celebrated my first Mother's Day.  It might just be my new favorite holiday.  I got spoiled by Owen and Andrew and we went home to spend time with our moms and Grandma Doris.  We all went out to dinner and had a great time celebrating mothers!  Besides that, it was a rainy and chilly month.  We were looking forward to spending time outdoors, but that didn't happen in April or May.
Our First Farmer's Market--one of our favorite things to do in the summer.

Watching the great outdoors-it was too cold to go outside.
 5 Months Old
During the 6 month, we started Owen's first summer.  Our goal is to show him how awesome summers are, especially in Madison.  Mother Nature didn't get the memo that summer started and it was chilly to start, but now the weather is turning around we've spent a lot of time outdoors.  While Andrew and I have done a bunch of work around the yard (hopefully a blog post to come), Owen has enjoyed spending time seeing everything there is to see outside.  For Mother's Day, I got a new umbrella that will provide us some much needed shade in the backyard.

Besides that, Owen just continues to grow and grow.  We've got our first tooth coming in, finally, I thought it would never make an appearance.  He loves to laugh (or breath heavy-that's his laugh), play with his toes and he still loves his fingers.  He continues to roll from his back to his tummy and likes sleeping on his tummy with his tush in the air.
 We LOVE the swing.
