Our House

Ok, so we're finally putting up some pictures of the house. Our inspection went very well and the guy said we have a VERY solid house for being 55 years old. There were a couple of electrical issues, but they will be fixed before we move in so we're all good. We're so glad that it went well and that we didn't have that much to fix. Our closing date is set for August 7. So if all goes as planned, we'll be out of our apartment on Thursday Aug. 6 and moving in either Friday or Saturday. Here's a quick video of our house. This is of course not our furniture, but you get the idea. Enjoy.

The story of our move.....

So, it was only in April when we were still questioning whether we would be moving. Two months later we both have jobs and a house, wow, things have gone fast. It was November/December 2008 when we made the decision to go full speed ahead and do everything we could to get jobs and start a life in Madison. In January, I got my Wisconsin teaching license and Andrew got his once he finished his masters in March. We wanted to make sure that nothing held us back if we were to get interviews. April came around and we had both completed the WI online teaching application and had applied to a couple of jobs. In May I got calls for two interviews. I got the one I really wanted in the Middleton School District. I will be a cross-categorical special education teacher for second, third and fourth grades. A couple of weeks later, Andrew got a call for a couple of interviews and he got one in Sun Prairie. He will also be a cross-categorical special education teacher for mostly fifth graders. After we knew he had a job, we went house hunting and found the perfect house in Madison. We put an offer in and it was accepted, without a counter offer. We couldn't be happier. This whole process has been so easy and fast for us. We are so grateful for the opportunities we have been given and are excited to start this new chapter. We have the inspection on our house tomorrow, so once that is completed and it goes without a hitch, we'll post some pictures. Thanks to everyone for all of your support through this process. We love you all. xoxo

Welcome to our blog. We hope to use this blog as a way to keep in touch with old friends and keep you updated with what is going on in our lives. As we begin this new chapter in our life, and move to Madison, WI, we are so excited to see what the future holds. While we are sad to leave our family and friends, we have put a lot of thought into this move and decided that it is what we want in our life right now. We can only hope that we remain in touch with all of you who are so important to us. And insist that you visit us...Madison is an awesome place, so please come share it with us. We'll use this as way to let you know what's happening and share new and exciting experiences we have as we make the move and continue our life together. Come back often to check in on us and leave messages to let us know your thoughts. xoxo
